PSYCHO SUNFLOWERS have come to the garden.
These fun flowers are about three feet of
pleated steel mesh.  A minimum of 4 colors and fun center parts makes them PSYCHO and fun in the garden or home.  (Several have gone to grace the waiting room of a Women's health clinic and local living rooms.)

$135

Raku Rose These candleholders are ceramic and recycled steel combined.  The shades are Raku ceramic-an ancient Japanese technique.  The pieces are dipped in a glaze containing copper then heated quickly to 1850 degrees.  While throbbingly red hot I pick them up with fireplace tongs and place in a pan filled with shredded newspaper.  Of course it bursts into flame!!  The lid is put on and the goal is to sustain the fire long enough to exhaust the oxygen in the container and pull the oxygen from the glaze to create the shine and color.  Just up my alley--fire, heat and open flames for art.

I love making birds.  Graceful sculptures with minimum parts but lots of personality.

This Pretty Peacock is made from the back of a chair from Miss Rebie's garden.  Miss Rebie believed in rescuing treasures from other peoples junk just like I do to make my critters.  When she went into assisted living,  I got to rescue her rescued finds once again.  This beauty is one of the last peacocks made from her summer furniture.
